Communications Manager, Internal and ExternalIrvine, California Job ID: 202545
Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications & Media Relations, the Communications Manager, Internal and External informs and engages associates and students through compelling storytelling, planning and execution of strategic communications plans in support of the business and the student experience. This position will research, develop, and distribute content related to the institution’s enterprise-wide communications across various media channels.
By engaging with associates and students alike, the Communications Manager, Internal and External will partner with internal stakeholders to develop content in the best interest of students, associates, and the institution itself.
This role supports the entire organization, both associates and students, and will partner closely with HR, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) team and other key stakeholders to support and drive the effectiveness of organization-wide communications and engagement strategies through various channels, content, measurement and events.
Five - seven years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing or related functions, either all in-house or with an agency/in-house mix.
Experience in higher education is valuable, but not required.
Experience in HR and DEI communications is highly desirable.
Experience creating and managing content for Intranet sites is highly desirable.
Ability to develop content that displays effective multi-media storytelling techniques.
Able to prioritize and organize fast-paced communications project work in a deadline-driven environment and coordinate the work of team members.
Strong computer aptitude on both Mac and PC platforms. Knowledge of Cision or other media database software.
Basic knowledge of websites, content management systems (especially Mac IOS, Microsoft Office, social media, photography and videography).
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field or related experience
