Working closely with the Co-President of Academics, plans, organizes, and supports strategic direction of all academic aspects of the University’s nursing programs.  Provides leadership and direction in identifying new program opportunities for nursing program development and new program launches. Provides leadership, direction and coordination in the development, interpretation, and implementation of nursing program policies and procedures. Ensures program compliance according to specific Bureau of Registered Nursing (BRN) requirements and State licensing requirements. Accountable to work with all campuses where nursing programs are offered, to ensure consistency of operations and compliance with BRN regulations.  Accountable for ensuring high quality outcomes are achieved.  Responsible for leading all Nursing programs to be aligned with institutional goals and values pertaining to growth, outcomes, and student-centricity.  While campus-based nursing leaders and faculty do not report directly to the Dean of the College of Nursing, the Dean is responsible for the development, dissemination, and consistent implementation of best practices. 


Doctor’s degree from an accredited college or university which includes substantial course work in nursing, education and/or administration required.


  • Minimum five years in an administrative position with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted, multi-location direction and planning in academic administration, planning and leadership within a regionally accredited institution in higher education.
  • Five year’s previous experience teaching in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs.
  • Minimum five years previous experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
  • Two years in a senior level position at a corporate/divisional level or above.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of education/governmental compliance and regulatory standards such as BRN, CIE, TBON,  WASC, CCNE, and other accreditation standards.
  • Experience with MS Office.
