Reporting to the Information Security Director, the IT Security Analyst, Disaster Recovery will manage and oversee the maintenance and testing of the University disaster recovery infrastructure applications to include Zerto, Citrix, VMWare, backups, and the like. This individual will execute regular failover testing and be responsible for developing and maintaining the tactical disaster recovery plans. The IT Security Analyst, Disaster Recovery is responsible for the daily backup, monitoring, maintenance, and testing of our information technology services (ITS) disaster recovery solution. This position will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and operations of the University backup and recovery strategy.
Responsibilities include monitoring, detecting, protecting, and maintaining the integrity, accessibility, and confidentiality of our data, systems, and networks. The analyst will be responsible for ensuring the validity and integrity of our daily/weekly/monthly operational backups. As a member of the Information Security team, this person will be involved with security event investigations. This individual also works closely with the IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve problems that involve data access and security controls.
Other responsibilities include planning, configuring, testing and maintaining tools, systems, and procedures to ensure the integrity, reliability, and confidentiality of data, systems, and networks as assigned. Utilize automated vulnerability and compliance scanning tools to report, identify, and track patching cadence, IT build compliance, and software updates throughout the system lifecycle.
Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced Information Security professional with a full understanding of industry best practices, governmental regulations, and Information Security policies and procedures to resolve a wide-range of complex issues and ensure that the team and departmental goals are achieved.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
Current Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manage (CISM), or SANS GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) preferred
