Senior Compensation AnalystIrvine, California Job ID: 201425
Reporting to the Director, Compensation and Benefits, in a multi-faceted, multi-location academic and administrative setting coordinates and oversees the administration of compensation programs by evaluating positions, reviewing and determining wage and salary structures, conducting market surveys and analyzing statistical data, and completing transactions within the database system. Provides guidance on compensation-related issues for management of a company, develops appropriate job descriptions, maintains a human resources website for online access to job descriptions and compensation information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages and/or participates in the analysis of new and existing positions based on their duties and responsibilities.
Advises HR partners, Talent Acquisition partners and managers offers and salary increases based on market data and sound compensation philosophy. Accurately matches jobs to market by assessment of duties. Assesses relevant experience in the determination of salaries.
Prepares reports and spreadsheets as needed to illustrate the market, cost analysis and recommendations.
Conducts job audits as necessary to clarify/confirm data acquired through job analysis techniques and surveys.
Work with HRIS to create new or revised job codes in the system, including FLSA exemption, pay authorizations, appropriate salary information and job classification details.
Participates in annual salary surveys and/or compensation data analysis as needed.
Works with in-house legal counsel to determine FLSA classifications for current and/or new positions.
Maintains job description library ensuring a job code, salary range and job description for every position in the organization.
Provides routine, day-to-day advice and support to the Human Resources staff and managers on compensation data.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent related field required.
Minimum of 3 year’s of prior experience in human resources with emphasis in compensation administration or an analytical role preferred.
Evidence of strong principles and practices of Human Resources including knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Experience with MS Office.
Knowledge of education/governmental compliance and regulatory standards such as Title IV, ABHES, BPPVE, and other accreditation standards preferred.
Knowledge of applicable databases and computer application systems to supply the most accurate information, reports and projections.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (experienced with various functions such as: vlookup, formulas, pivot tables etc.)
Ability to deal with and maintain very sensitive and highly confidential information.
Ability to foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust through collaborative decision making/problem solving in a non-adversarial manner.
Ability to provide pro-active problem solving guidance.
Ability to effectively use interpersonal skills, follow through with duties, and provide attention to detail.
Ability to analyze data, prepare necessary reports, evaluate and analyze program effectiveness and resource utilization.
Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

Ability to self-direct, self-pace, multi-task and function well under pressure of deadlines and conflicting priorities.
