Experienced communications professional to become a key individual contributor working in a high visibility role, leading all aspects of organizational communications within a highly regulated environment.  This includes internal and external communications - encompassing public and media relations, crisis and issues communications management, executive communications, associate/internal communications, student communication, and special event management.  

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to advance our brand and business objectives through highly-effective, sophisticated, and targeted communications. The successful candidate will also have the ability to address complex topics and crisis with confidence, sophistication and sensitivity to nuance.  This position requires an individual who is a strategic communicator, proactively considering the potential impact of business decisions and leading the associated communication strategy.  The candidate will have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to multiple audiences, using the most effective methods to ensure that what is intended in communication is achieved.  For example, this role will be responsible for crafting messages of a political nature that is both public facing and/or directed to governmental leaders.  

Experience leading in a matrix organization preferred, with demonstrated success at influencing and managing across organizational boundaries. Experienced leader working in a highly regulated industry sensitive to understanding multiple state and federal requirements that will influence and dictate messaging.  They should be high-energy, passionate, driven, and innovative, with experience leveraging social media to create an engaging and two-way conversation with core audiences.


Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications and/or Marketing. Master’s degree preferred.


  • 10-15 years’ experience in Communications, preferably in a highly regulated environment/industry
  • Proven track record in development and oversight of comprehensive public relations strategies, strategic communications, crisis communications and message positioning.
  • Extensive experience interacting, advising, and working at the C-Suite level; relationship builder who can develop credibility with Executive Management and other internal constituents.
