Vice President Operations, Ground Campuses
Irvine, California Job ID: 2025-3427Reporting to the Co-President, Business Operationsthe Vice President of Operations, Ground Campuses oversees the operations of West Coast University’s five campuses, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory, governmental, and accreditation standards within the proprietary education sector. This role provides strategic leadership in the interpretation, coordination, and administration of policies and procedures related to student enrollments, financial aid, student retention, career services, and personnel administration. The Vice President directs and manages campus operations, budgets, and performance objectives through Campus Executive Directors to ensure all campuses meet University goals. As a member of the University Leadership team, this role contributes to strategic planning, fiscal management, resource development, community relations, and policy setting. Additionally, the Vice President assists in the development of operational and capital budgets and prepares comprehensive reports on campus services, enrollments, placements, training budgets, staffing, and other activities as required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee and direct the development and administration of annual plans for all campuses, ensuring alignment with University goals and objectives.
- Budget Management: Coordinate the development of annual budgets for all campuses; supervise expenditures and maintain fiscal control to ensure financial health.
- Campus Operations: Oversee the development and execution of strategic initiatives for co-curricular services, staff development, and facilities across all campuses.
- Student Success: Ensure all campuses deliver appropriate academic and co-curricular support services to foster student success and meet or exceed University standards for student satisfaction, retention, completion, and placement rates.
- Administrative Leadership: Provide administrative leadership to ensure effective and efficient operations of all campuses, implementing policies and practices that reflect the integrity of the institution and foster public trust.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other University leaders in pursuit of the University’s goals and objectives, serving on planning and policy-making committees.
- Personnel Management: Manage the selection, evaluation, development, and assignment of Campus Executive Directors and other administrative associates.
- Performance Metrics: Ensure all campuses achieve budgeted profit and loss metrics and collaborate with Shared Services and University Administration to effectively achieve campus outcomes.
- Safety and Maintenance: Ensure the Fire, Safety, and Emergency Plans are maintained, kept up to date, and administered efficiently for all campuses. Ensure campus facilities are functionally and aesthetically maintained.
- Community Engagement: Initiate external partnerships and collaborations that serve the community and involve the community with the campuses.
- Professional Development:Participate in professional development and organizations to maintain an understanding of current ideas, research, and practices. Attend meetings, workshops, and seminars to enrich personal growth, knowledge, and leadership skills.
- Role Model:Maintain a professional appearance and serve as a role model, leader, and mentor to the campus community.
- Compliance: Adhere to University policies and procedures and provide leadership to all associates through guidance and example. Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the University’s Code of Ethical Conduct, Compliance Agreement, Sexual Harassment Policy, or any of its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, business management, student affairs, or related field required.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in education, administration, business management, student affairs, or related field strongly preferred.
- Terminal degree with major study in education, administration, business management, student affairs, or related field preferred.
Experience & Skills:
Required:
- A minimum of ten years in a senior administrative level position within appropriate/equivalent industry concerned with academic and career development administration, practices and services, fiscal and operations management/experience.
- Experience with MS Office.
- Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as Title IV, WASC, and other accreditation standards.
- Passion for the development of future healthcare professionals.
- Passion for developing associates and colleagues and supporting their professional growth.
- Competency in financial management, leadership in an interdisciplinary environment, and systems thinking.
- Ability to thrive in leading a highly ethnic and culturally diverse student and associate community.
- Ability to use effective communication skills, both oral and written, including complex proposals and presentations, and effective listening skills.
- Ability to speak before public groups, committees and meetings.
