Responsibilities

As the Chair, Post-Licensure Nursing, you will provide academic leadership and operational oversight for the designated post-licensure nursing program(s).
You will make an impact by:
- Planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the nursing program curriculum to ensure academic quality, regulatory compliance, and alignment with institutional and accreditation standards.
- Leading faculty in curriculum delivery, overseeing experiential and didactic instruction, and driving continuous improvement and academic excellence across all aspects of the program.
- Managing day-to-day academic operations, the Chair serves as the primary point of contact for program faculty and students, supports faculty recruitment, training, evaluation, and professional development, and conducts classroom observations.
- Promoting student success and retention, ensuring students are supported throughout their academic journey through proactive engagement, advising, and collaboration with appropriate university resources and support services.
- Actively participates in university events such as meetings, student orientations, graduation ceremonies, and committee meetings, while fostering a collaborative, student-centered learning environment committed to excellence in nursing education.
- This is a working leadership position with a defined teaching workload; the Chair is expected to teach assigned courses each term while also fulfilling administrative and management responsibilities.
- Maintain a regular campus presence and be accessible to students, faculty, and academic partners.
- Travel within the U.S. to attend university events and meetings.
Your Experience Includes:
- Didactic and clinical teaching in nursing or a related discipline, with a minimum of five years’ professional experience and at least three years in instructional roles.
- Proven academic leadership, including program-level management, faculty coordination, and operational oversight in higher education.
- Expertise in curriculum design and assessment, integrating online, hybrid, and in-person modalities, and applying best practices in educational theory and methodology.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., BRN, TBON, CCNE, CNEA, WASC, Title IV) and demonstrated success in preparing for site visits and audits.
- Strong understanding of CCNE accreditation standards, NONPF competencies, and state board of nursing regulations.
- Proven experience in program-level leadership, including faculty coordination, curriculum oversight, and academic operations.
- Track record of data-driven decision‐making, using key performance indicators to guide strategic planning and continuous program improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and foster a supportive, inclusive learning community.
- Additional qualifications may be required based on the specific program.
Education
- Doctoral degree (DNP, EdD, PhD, or related) required.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required from a regionally accredited institution.
Licenses & Certifications
- Current, active, unencumbered RN license in California and state of residence.
- Additional specialty credentials as required by program area.
- Current CPR certification.
