Social Media Marketing Specialist

You will make an impact by:
- Having a deep passion for social media, keeping abreast of new developments and opportunities in the industry, and being a strategic thinker.
- Acting as the voice of our brand and managing various community communications.
- Partnering with content team members on all aspects of social media from planning, production and publishing to community management and reporting.
- Identifying storytelling opportunities and demonstrating an exceptionally strong “news sense”
- Identifying the compelling part(s) of a story or individual that will connect with a particular audience and packaging that into social content authentically, engagingly, and impactfully.
- Partnering with Student Organizations and identified subjects to generate content that can be leveraged.
Your experience includes:
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience managing social media platforms in a similar related position (marketing-driven company with comparable size, complexity), and specific marketing sub-functions.
- Minimum two (2) years of writing, editing, and/or content marketing experience.
- Experience with Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, X, and YouTube is essential.
- Experience with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures with an understanding of Hootsuite or other similar programs to manage online postings on different platforms along with knowledge of general marketing trends and techniques.
- Hands-on experience with social media management for brands.
- Experience launching community initiatives (e.g., building an online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series, writing blogs, newsletters, etc.).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related field or relevant experience required.
